Privacy Policy — StreakSync

StreakSync is available on the App Store.

StreakSync (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a personal streak-tracking app for daily word games. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What We Collect

Data you provide

Display name — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we store the name you share during sign-in so friends can identify you on the leaderboard.
Email address — collected from Apple or Google Sign-In only if you grant permission. Used solely for account recovery; not shared or used for marketing.
Game results — the score, date, and game name for each puzzle result you log or share into the app.

Data generated automatically

User ID — a pseudonymous identifier (Firebase UID) created when you first open the app. Anonymous users receive a random ID with no name or email attached.
Friend connections — the user IDs of people you add as friends and your 6-character friend code.
Achievement and streak data — derived entirely from your game results; no additional data is collected to compute these.
Notification preferences — your reminder time and on/off setting, stored locally on your device.

Data we do NOT collect

Location
Contacts
Photos or camera
Device identifiers used for advertising (no ad tracking)
Usage analytics or crash reports

2. How We Use Your Data

All data is used exclusively to operate the app:

User ID, display name	Identify you on the leaderboard and friend list
Game results	Calculate streaks, power leaderboards, sync across devices
Friend connections	Show your friends’ scores alongside yours
Achievements	Award and display progress milestones

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

3. Third-Party Services

StreakSync uses the following third-party services that process data on our behalf:

Google Firebase (Firestore + Authentication) Your game results, profile, friend connections, and scores are stored in Google Cloud Firestore. Firebase Authentication manages your account. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy

Sign In with Apple If you sign in with Apple, Apple’s authentication service verifies your identity. Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy

Google Sign-In If you sign in with Google, Google’s OAuth service verifies your identity. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy

We have no relationship with any other third-party data processors.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained until you delete your account. When you delete your account (Settings → Account → Delete Account), we permanently delete:

Your profile and display name
All game results and scores stored on our servers
Your friend connections and friend code
Your Firebase Authentication account

Data stored locally on your device (preferences, cached results) is cleared automatically when you delete the account or uninstall the app.

5. Children’s Privacy

StreakSync is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

6. Data Security

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Data at rest in Firestore is encrypted by Google. Score data on the leaderboard is only readable by the user who posted it and their mutual friends — enforced by Firestore security rules.

7. Your Rights

Regardless of your location, you may:

Access your data — your game results, streaks, and profile are visible in-app at all times.
Delete your data — use Settings → Account → Delete Account to permanently erase all data from our servers. This action is irreversible.
Correct your data — sign in or update your account to change your display name.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a new effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
